My final critique of college. I’m still processing that I am actually graduating and will be walking next Saturday.

I really enjoyed the tour of Hudl. As a business minor it is always fascinating getting an in-depth view of different management styles. I love the idea of unlimited vacation and a work week based on progress and accomplishing goals instead of a mandatory 40 hours. The spontaneous nerf battles also sound fun!
After I purchased my WordPress I went on to purchase a domain name: em2art.com and I am using Pair Networks to host my server. Installing the WordPress theme and getting it to work was not as easy as I imagined. Thankfully the in class instruction helped immensely along with the online video the company has for installing their theme. I’m going to still need to fiddle with it to feel better about the page and my website.
Now that I have decided on a WordPress theme that I am happy with, Alpha by Krownthemes. I’m excited to play around with it. I was really taken with the sliding homepage and how four projects can be highlighted with it. I am planning on using my blog section to talk about my other portfolio pieces and to have as a work-in progress section. The about me will lead to my online presence: Behance, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter and other such platforms. I can’t wait to get started!
With only two weeks before I graduate I have thankfully finished my layout for the Behance page and am working on my animated GIFs. I have decided to animate my Meet the Family page since it is similar to the coding example we had in class, if I ever do manage to code this piece I want to have it based on something I have learned from this class. The other animation will be a mockup of the whole website, I want to show how everything will interact as it is scrolled through.
After the in progress critique I am excited to complete my edits so I can start working on my Behance page. Some of the inspiration I have found so far will work as a template for what I have planned.
Progress Critique. I am going to be very happy when I have a completed set of animated GIFs for my Behance post. I have barely anything for my online portfolio and I am looking forward to adding more of my work.
Trying to round out my edits and figure out my approach to the final version for Behance. This will be the illustration for my main animated portion:
Animation is next and I am scared. But I will remain positive! I think it will be a ton easier than what I am imagining in my head… not to mention with the lessons in class and the World Wide Web at my fingertips I can solve any coding problem I come across!
This is me thinking about coding…
Critique day! I am pleased with my design. Near the end I tried to simplify everything so it remained visually interesting but was still manageable during the coding phase.
