For my capstone experience, I wanted to showcase how women are treated in the outdoor industry, as this issue is still something that is often overlooked. I want people to view my project and receive a better understanding of what some people still deal with today.
I created a booklet that shares summarized information from my 10 page paper I have written, data entry, and stories that have been shared throughout all my research. My research consisted of interviews and polls to gain information from female hunting groups as well as well known female outdoor enthusiasts that requested to remain anonymous. I have luckily gained a lot of very eye opening information that I want to share with my viewers.
My interactive piece consists of spinnable blocks mounted onto the gallery wall. These blocks share an image of a hunter on the front side, and the back shares a quote from an interaction they have unfortunately dealt with before. This interaction consists of an eye opening read for viewers to get a better understanding of how many women are treated.
