HOW ICONIC DANCE MOVES IMPACTED THE EVOLUTION OF DANCE THROUGH DECADES:

Through the exploration of this project, my mission was to define and demonstrate how iconic dance moves have evolved throughout history, significantly shaping the dance trends of each decade. These serve not only as cultural reflections of each time period, but how music dictated the movement and how the popularization of these moves was ignited through imitation of movement. Throughout history, iconic dances have played a pivotal role in shaping the dance styles of each decade. From the Charleston of the 1920s, the Moonwalk of the 1980s to the pop dancing of the 2000s, these dances have not only reflected the cultural zeitgeist but also influenced it. 

They serve as symbols of social change, artistic expression, and entertainment, leaving a lasting impact on choreography styles, music preferences, and societal norms. Through their widespread popularity and adoption, iconic dances have sparked innovation, inspired new movements, and contributed to the dynamic evolution of dance culture. Studying their influence provides valuable insights into the intersection of art, society, and history, showcasing the profound impact of dance on shaping collective identity and cultural expression across different decades. I present to you a visual representation and timeline of how certain pop culture individuals were recognized for their movement styles that mirrored onto audiences everywhere.
