Maggie Driewer

[BFA] Studio Art – Drawing

In my narrative prints and animations, I build worlds inspired by fantasy and fairytales. Viewers can watch stories unfold on a large, projected map alive with animated movement. Accompanying the animation are prints that act as windows into these worlds—peaceful vignettes depicting scenes from the map. The interplay between printmaking and digital media is central to my work, as I explore how they enhance and complement each other. The stillness of my prints balances the movement of the animations and acts as a snapshot of this animated world. I am continually exploring the possibilities of how printmaking and animation can work together. I aim to create a respite for viewers, inviting them to step out of their busy lives into a serene, calming space amidst the chaos of everyday life.
