Was really excited to hit the drawing board when we got to class, the exercise we did really helped at least to begin thinking about where exactly to start in the overwhelming process of coding. I think drawing it out like we did in class, figuring out where the dividers will be really helped, and will be the beginning of my process when translating designs to code. First things first, STAY ORGANIZED, cannot stress this enough.. Managing alot of different files and being able to know exactly where they are. I felt like i was really pretty good about keeping everything in order in past classes and in general, but this class has proven its absolute importance even more so, and that is harder when you have multiple layers to deal with.
Chapter 7 talked about borders, padding, margins and how to control that space. This was a great chapter to read because i have felt comfortable being able to code a page to have certain text attributes but did not quite understand how to make it go, and have spacing between, etc. I am having a little trouble understanding the measurements, or even what font size to make things. Its different in an illustrator document, i’m not sure how the font sizes translate to the web, and am still a little confused about resolution and different screen sizes. There is seriously just so much to learn, and i hope when i actually step into the coding portion of things i can take all the things we have talked about and use them properly. Once again, this is going to be a thing that really only clicks when i begin to confidently start to set up my designs.
