Was really excited to finally start “coding” our designs. Although i didn’t get far, i really feel way more comfortable and have a basic understanding of the structure of html, which leaves me ecstatic! Obviously, there are gonna be things i still don’t understand, but usually websites are pretty simple, which atleast for now i believe i could be at a good
Now that I have decided on a WordPress theme that I am happy with, Alpha by Krownthemes. I’m excited to play around with it. I was really taken with the sliding homepage and how four projects can be highlighted with it. I am planning on using my blog section to talk about my other portfolio pieces and to have as a work-in progress section. The about me will lead to my online presence: Behance, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter and other such platforms. I can’t wait to get started!
With only two weeks before I graduate I have thankfully finished my layout for the Behance page and am working on my animated GIFs. I have decided to animate my Meet the Family page since it is similar to the coding example we had in class, if I ever do manage to code this piece I want to have it based on something I have learned from this class. The other animation will be a mockup of the whole website, I want to show how everything will interact as it is scrolled through.
After the in progress critique I am excited to complete my edits so I can start working on my Behance page. Some of the inspiration I have found so far will work as a template for what I have planned.
I was crazy struggling with my portfolio site. I wanted to hard code my site, I have a portfolio site already made from 2 years ago but it’s nothing I find impressive. I would like to re-code everything but without using jQuery or bootstrap I’m really struggling with creating something dynamic. I still have to document a lot of my items for my portfolio, as well. I’m dying.
Blogs aren’t as much fun as I expected. Code is though. Onto GD2
Hudl Tour:
I was really interested in touring Hudl, I was excited to see the offices and seeing the creative part of the company. As interesting as it was to learn about all the departments of Hudl I was not very impressed by the tour. The only thing I really learned about the graphic design part of Hudl was that most of the designers work in marketing or product. The tour guides were happy to show off all of the benefits of working at Hudl but failed to show us what we specifically were interested in learning about career-wise. @_@.
I didn’t work on my site as much as I meant to this weekend.
Still making progress on my site. It’s very bare bones but the illustrations are done now. The book and labs are helping me with the animation parts of my site
