Thesis Statement

Restaurant Design

As with any form of art, cooking is inseparable from our own personal stories, our memories, and associations. I intend to show that the story of art/design and the story of food are, in fact, intertwined. Cooking is one of the first arts that human beings ever attempted, therefore, making it one of the most universal arts. The art of designing a restaurant, creating a mood, establishing a complimentary atmosphere for the “culinary art” is extending the canvas to the entire room. As a culinary artist, my goal was to create a culinary experience that combined my love for cooking with my love of designing — while investigating how to start my own culinary business.
