We were given the task of creating a story line and wire frames for a game that deals with working towards a more sustainable future. The main features that we incorporated were pop up windows and the blur effect whenever the pop up window comes up.
Story Summary: Welcome to Susterra, an exciting new way to learn about the future of agriculture! You are a modern day farmer set in the year 2018 and are building a life. You have taken on the adventures and responsibilities of sustaining a farm til 2050. Face challenges and earn rewards you as you learn to build a sustainable and thriving future, not only for yourself and your family, but for your world. Learn to use sustainable agri-practices that cooperate with the earth’s environment. Build important relationships with neighbors and friends – you might need them when bad weather strikes! Every decision counts as we go forward together to the year 2050.
Team Work
The following work was created by other members of the team. Overall we kept the system throughout the same. Each screen will have the menu in the top left hand corner. Then there will be tabs on the right side of the screen that will contain things such as your tasks and inventory.
My Work
The wireframes that I worked on dealt with the home screen and the planting scenes. The planting scene starts off with you being at a barn. Then you click on the tractor and a box will show up asking which type of seed you would like to plant, it will also show you how much seed you have of each plant. After you pick which seed you would like to plant you are transported to the tractor at the start of the field. While you are planting seeds there may be random pop ups telling you that something is wrong with your equipment. It will be up to you if you choose to fix it right away or wait until it gets worse.
