Project Description
The concept of an educational immersive simulation game integrating the corn-water-ethanol-beef (CWEB) system was brought to the University of Nebraska – Lincoln graphic design students by professionals in various disciplines. This simulation game would provide education to 4-H students, high school teachers, undergraduate students, and the public about the sustainability of the CWEB systems and how to better produce food by the year 2050. 2050 is recognized as a time where the population of the world will reach nine billion and the number of “food insecure” people will rise drastically. The proposed simulation game would prepare the future workforce to meet the global challenge of providing food, energy, and water to a rapidly growing population. This will enhance public awareness of limited natural resources and and the importance of sustainability.
